TEHRAN (IQNA) – Human beings, no matter how strong they seem to be, are not that powerful in the face of hardships, calamities and difficulties and seek help from a greater power to surmount problems and difficulties.

Quran’s Recommendation about How to Face Hardships

Mankind has been created in hardship and confronts various difficulties in life.

In order to help man in facing those difficulties, the Quran suggests seeking help from God: “Say: ‘Who saves you from the darkness of the land and sea, when you call out to Him humbly and in secret, (saying:) ‘If You save us from this, we will be among the thankful.’” (Surah Al-An’am, Verse 63)

Feeling comfort and lack of need sometimes lead one to forget God. That is why God, who is the most compassionate and kinder to humans than anyone, puts him in adversity and difficulty to remind him of the dangerous consequences of neglect.

God also urges those who found themselves in a state of despair and helplessness to remember God and seek help from Him.

“And seek help in patience and prayer. For it is heavy, except to the humble.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 45)

Saying prayers reminds one of the limitless power of God and makes everything else look small in his eyes. It also enhances Tawakkul (putting one’s trust in God) and frees one from worldly attachments.

According to the Holy Quran, the real hardship and the real sadness is the one in the Resurrection Day. The Holy Book gives the Bisharat (good news) to the believers that they will be free from sadness on that day:

“Indeed, whoever submits his face to Allah and does good works shall be rewarded by his Lord; there they shall have nothing to fear nor shall they be saddened.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 112)
